Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.–George Bernard Shaw
You’ve done what you were supposed to do. You went to school, found a mate, bought a home, got a job, and raised the kids (if you chose to have them). And now, you look around and might ask, “is this it?” Not in an ungrateful way, but in a curious way. What else am I supposed to do?
Maybe you want a change, but aren’t sure what that change is. You want to be doing something meaningful and important, but you can’t take the first step because you don’t even know there’s a path.
And maybe you are an intelligent, strong, and creative person who can’t seem to take the risk needed to break out of a rut? Does the word “risk” scare you a little bit, but still seem intriguing? You’ve tried everything you can think of, but you can’t seem to get yourself focused on the dreams you left behind.
If you want to break this cycle and get moving – either thru the brick wall, over it, or around it – you can.
I’m not saying you can’t do this on your own. But if you can, why haven’t you?
The right question can be a remarkable catalyst for awareness and change, and when answered honestly, can effectively flip a switch inside you, and set you on a path to making a shift that you need to make. This is what coaching is all about.
